Coming Events: 2006 West Coast Sale


Please join us on 25 February, 2006, as we display beautiful handmade quilts, table linens, aprons, baby bibs and handbags at the Burlingame home of Liz and Ed Watson, friends of JP II and of Un Mundo. All items are made by the women of the Juan Pablo II Sewing Cooperative, and all will be on display and for sale. Custom orders can also be placed.

This is an open house style event with finger foods and drinks. Drop by any time between 1 and 5 p.m. The Watsons' house is a 1444 Balboa Ave., Burlingame, CA, just a 20 minute walk from the Millbrae BART and Caltrain Stations. Parking is available on the street. Holiday 2005 Events

Following is a summary of sales during the 2005 holiday season, and yes, all were great successes! Thank you, co-op volunteers and friends.

Sunday, 20 November, San Jose, Calif. Almaden Hills United Methodist Church Christmas Faire. Parishioner Kathie Gulizia displayed items from the co-op. (Thank you, Kathie!)

Saturday, 3 December, Westwood, Massachusetts. St. John's Episcopal Church Christmas Fair. Mel Bride, US Director of Sales and Marketing, displayed co-op items.

Sunday, 4 December, Barrington, RI. Party, 1-5 p.m. Mel and Jim Bride displayed co-op items in their home at 2 Joann Drive.

Wednesday, 9 November, Westwood, Massachusetts. Denise Patrick, parishioner at St John's Episcopal Church in Westwood, hosted a Fair Trade Open House in her home with items from the JPII co-op, Equal Exchange coffees and teas, and handmade note cards from a co-op in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

Friday, 11 November, Townsend, Delaware. Louisa Zendt and Mel Bride co-hosted a Christmas Global Shopping Open House at Louisa's home with items from the JPII co-op, Equal Exchange coffees and teas, handmade note cards from a co-op in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, as well as jewelry and global gifts from SERRV.

Saturday, 12 November, Haiku, Hawaii. The East Maui Animal Refuge auction to support their animal rehabilitation programs. The Juan Pablo Segundo Cooperative donated an animal quilt.

Saturday, 12 November and Sunday, 13 November, Seattle, Washington. Lauren Lassleben, Anne Shanney and other JPII volunteers exhibited JPII products at Our Lady of the Lake Parish Holiday Show. This show has a special Peace and Justice theme.
